Motorola SC-725 Cellular Phone (170-1401) NAM Programming Simple Programming These steps allow you to program your phone for up to four phone numbers. Before you start, contact the customer's cellular service provider to request the information to complete steps 2-5 and record it in the spaces provided. Then follow these five easy steps to program your phone. 1. Enter 7 4 6 6 3, then press # and the number (1-4) for the NAM you want to program. Then press FCN twice. Enter Number appears. 2. Use the keypad to enter the customer's phone number (_ _ _) _ _ _ - _ _ _ _ then press STO. The phone number you entered appears. 3. Enter the five-digit Analog System ID _ _ _ _ _ then press STO. The Analog System ID appears. 4. Enter the five-digit Digital System ID _ _ _ _ _ then press STO. The Digital System ID appears. 5. Enter the five-digit Digital Network ID _ _ _ _ _ then press STO. The Digital Network ID appears. 6. Repeat steps 1-5 for each NAM 1-4. If you make a mistake, TRY AGAIN appears, then the number you just entered appears. Press CLR to erase one digit at a time, or hold down CLR to erase the entire entry. Then enter the correct number, press STO, and you're finished. Detailed Programming This pro0cedure allows for more detailed programming. Before you start, contact the customer's cellular service provider to request the information to complete steps 2-14 and record it in the spaces provided. Then follow the phone's prompts to program it. 1. Enter FCN 0 000000 000000 RCL. 2. Enter the ten-digit phone number (_ _ _) _ _ _ - _ _ _ _ Then press STO. 3. Enter the three-digit Country Code _ _ _ . Then press STO. 4. Enter the two-digit Network Code _ _ . Then press STO. 5. Enter the two-digit AMPS System ID _ _ . Then press STO. 6. Enter the two-digit CDMA System ID _ _ . Then press STO. 7. Enter the five-digit CDMA Network ID _ _ _ _ _ . Then press STO. 8. Enter the three-digit CDMA Primary Channel A _ _ _ . Then press STO. 9. Enter the three-digit CDMA Primary Channel B _ _ _ . Then press STO. 10. Enter the three-digit CDMA Secondary Channel A _ _ _ . Then press STO. 11. Enter the three-digit CDMA Secondary Channel B _ _ _ . Then press STO. 12. Enter the six-digit Secure Code _ _ _ _ _ _ . Then press STO. 13. Enter the three-digit Lock Code _ _ _ . Then press STO. 14. Enter how many phone numbers the customer will use _ . Then press STO. 15. Return to Step 2. The phone repeats Steps 2-14 for each phone number that you indicated in Step 14. If you make a mistake, TRY AGAIN appears, then the number you just entered appears. Press CLR to erase one digit at a time, or hold down CLR to erase the entire entry. Then enter the correct number, press STO, and you're finished. Enhanced Preferred Scanning Enhanced Preferred Scanning lets the user tell the cellular phone which networks to register with when the home network is not available. The System ID number of a particular network can be tagged with one of three types of preference: (1) Home Preferred, (2) Roam Preferred, and (3) Inhibit. If the home network is not available, the phone first seeks available Home Preferred Networks, then Roam Preferred Networks and finally any available network. The phone will not register with any networks that are programmed as Inhibit. Note: The Roam indicator will NOT be displayed when the phone is registered with a network which is programmed as Home Preferred. 1. Enter 7 9 7 4 3 FCN FCN. NAM 2 SYS Ids Enter SID 001 Empty appears. 2. Press # and * to scroll to an empty location. (number 001-200) ***** Empty appears. 3. Enter the 5-digit System ID, then press STO. The number you entered appears. 4. Repeatedly press # and * until the desired preference type (Roam, Home, or Inhibit) appears. 5. Press STO. The location number, the new SID and the network preference you selected appear. 6. Press # and begin with Step 2 for each new System ID. When you are finished, press END to exit Enhanced Preferred Mode. 7. To program NAM 2-4, enter 7 9 7 4 3 and the number of the NAM you want to program, then press FCN twice. 8. Return to Step 6 and Repeat Steps 3 through 6 for each System ID. (11/19/98)
