"The Grande Cache cell-site DIMA System" Back in mid July 1998 my amigo Wizbone and I were bored. The only thing remotely interesting at that time was all the chicks on rollerblades that we'd follow around on a hope to get "lucky". Unfortunately Wizzy and I (The Clone) didn't find much fun following around effeminates. Besides, we were two rad dudes on a Mission to Moscow... erm.. I mean a mission of knowledge... (yeah really!). At approximately 10:30pm... (actually it was closer to 11:30) we both grabbed our rollerblades, our backpacks, and our Jolt cola ;) and we went for a nice little ride. When we arrived at our destination we couldn't believe our eyes. In a huge black building with shiny tinted windows and funky wide angle security cameras, stood the beautiful TELUS MOBILITY building! In the ensuing five minute period of staring at the corporate gestapo, Wizbone and I decided we'd check the place out. Not thirty seconds past when before our very eyes stood two trash bins! We rushed over to them to find many black bags just sitting there. Now who in their right minds would throw away great stuff like this? ;p Grabbing as many bags as we could, and blading away as fast as we could in a desperate hope not to get caught by the Telus piggies, we managed to skate into an empty underground parking lot. Ripping open bag after bag we had come across some rather fascinating stuff. Mostly phone bills, more phone bills, coffee grinds, a mouse pad (still using it!), and two very wicked papers regarding one topic; the brand new Grande Cache Cell-site. For those of you who aren't aware of what Grande Cache is, it's a dinky little city which my buddy "Satan" from 2600 calls: "Castledowns with mountains". The first paper goes as follows: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Printed by: ? The cell site is called grande cache with the number of #140 , short clli is (GDCH), yes there are numbers assigned to this area. not the dima number is 403-827-6099 . For more information call bonnie doon w/c 944-4777. We all know where grande cache is ??? Rocky ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sorry Rocky but the majority of us hapless weenies reading this file don't know where Grande Cache is. And we don't understand the majority of your acronymns. Do all you TELUS m0f0's speak like this by purpose to confuse the telco phreaker/enthusiasts? Recently I, The Clone, did some more research into the numbers assigned to the site and I came up with a list of every cellular phone number in the Grande Cache area. They start off at 827-6000 and finish at 827-6999. Because of lack of time/space I will not be compiling them on the zine. Perhaps I'll put them on a seperate file for you to download. The second paper is what really gave me some more insight into the Grande Cache cell-site. It gives out a list of consequential changes to Dima customer billing process which I found not only interesting, but useful in showing me how TELUS billing audits look and work, what kind of protocol's are involved, etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Printed by: ? They will provide you with a complete picture of more significant changes which will help to make the overall process more efficient and accurate. In a few days we will send details of the observations which prompted these suggestions for change.. etc.. 1. Repair the ACCESS database 6099 tracking process by: a) cleaning up the data entry screen b) protect the tables from tampering c) create system edits for accuracy and efficiency d) create better macros for user reports e) issue user guides f) create upload process from ACCESS to TCI/TCE billing. j) administer the process in CSG or shift to CTS. 1> Resolve the situation where technicians do not know what billing information is needed on certain 6099 jobs. What minimum information is needed for Mobility, Sprint, AT&T, and other jobs in order to bill them? 2> Resolve the issue with Mobility involving maintenance contracts where the work is done by TCI forces.. a) the contract is between the customer and Mobility, Mobility pays 6099 costs (eg) to TCI, b) contract is between customer and TCI, customer pays maintenance fee to TCI 3> contract is between mobility and TCI, Mobility pays maintenance fee to TCI or customer pays 6099 costs to TCI.. a) Resolve Mobility 6099 costs not billable to Mobility or Mobility's customers because the charges belong to TCI. Need to list the applicable conditions and/or standards for a validity check. Need to communicate to field areas for clarification. b) Explore use of AWAS to handle majority of billable activities. Need to look at 80/20 rule for activites, package price them for simplicity, and to look at possible billing via AWAS instead of 6099 forms. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now I hope this file on the Grande Cache Cell-site has at least showed what astonishing papers you can find while trashing, how easy it is to unlock the secrets the phone company so badly wants to hide from you, and what new marvelous systems are just waiting to be found by the curious or bi-curious.
