Gaining access to someone's computer with Morpheus or Kazaa Date: November 10, 2001 by Abu_sme Disclaimer: I am probably not the only one who knows about this little trick. SO if you get caught using this or something it is not my fucking fault. I claim no responsibility whatsoever for your actions. SO behave... Intro: One time i was using morpheus i was being queued like crazy... I thought "what if i could just gain direct access to their computers and bypass morpheus altogether... So off i went on my quest and in about 5 minutes i had suceeded... this is stupidly easy... What to do: First find out the ip address of someone you know is using morpheus/kazaa. This may be a friend, a guess, or whatever. If you really wanted to find it you could port scan a domain for port 1214... this is the port that the program uses...... Another way is to start downloading something and then go to DOS or command line for NT users and type in netstat... As many of you know, this tells you all of your open ports and who is accessing them... Hmm i wonder what you can do with this after typing netstat you will get a list of ip/host adresses with 1214 as the port number... Now all you simply have to do is open your favorite web browser and type in their ip address with :1214 beside it for example http://255.255.255.255:1214 or whatever... (note don't type this particular ip address it may cause a broadcast storm in you lan:) It only gives you read priveledges to their shared/upload folder but it does allow to bypass the queue system which is good if you want to suck up some one's bandwidth etc. So enjoy tormenting people through morpheus and don't expect this large security hole to be fixed any time soon...
